Stow and Heriot Church are in the process of a Local Review being conducted by Presbytery. As part of this review, members are invited to attend a further meeting with Presbytery and this is scheduled for Sunday 1st December immediately following the service in Heriot Church. While the review does some looking back at what we've done over the last few years, it is very much about making plans for the future, so concerns the whole congregation and input at this meeting is very much sought from all who are involved in the life of our church in this place.
On Sunday 17 November, we will celebrate Holy Communion at Heriot Kirk. The service commences at 11 am.
In October we collected Fifteen filled shoe boxes for the Blythswood Care Appeal. This year the shoe boxes are destined for Ukraine. If you'd like to know more about taking part in this appeal, please get in touch for more information.
Harvest Thanksgiving in Heriot Church was a lovely service and members brought generous donations for Galashiels Foodbank.
From August 2024, Reverend Mark Nicholas, Minister of Gorebridge Parish Church has taken over from Reverend Brady who has moved on to a new charge in the Gretna area. We are grateful for all her help and support and wish her well in her new role. Reverend June Johnston continues as our Locum Minister.
During this time of Vacancy, we are fortunate to have an experienced Interim Moderator in the Rev Lynn Brady.
We now have the Reverend June Johnston in the role of Locum Minister. This is a part-time role for Rev Johnston, working with both Stow and Heriot Church and our linked church at Caddonfoot.
